Pictures of Bush and Obama at White House

The Bushes Show the Obamas Their New (White) House

Barack and Michelle Obama met President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush this afternoon, producing images of impending change. After a tour of the White House, the 43rd and 44th presidents separated from their good brides for official talks in the Oval Office. Without anyone else present, Bush and Obama were expected to discuss the economy, the war in Iraq, and national security. Considering Obama's transition chief said today that Obama will quickly begin to reverse Bush's policies starting on day one, this meeting has to be a bit awkward.

I have been entertaining myself for the last two days trying to imagine how differently this meeting would have been if Hilary had won the Presidency? I mean, can you really see Laura Bush talking to Bill about china patterns and Christmas tree decorations? Too funny.

I think Michelle should've worn that dress on Election Night. Did anyone else think her black and red dress was a bit twisted? It didn't seem to line up right. Also, Barack has aged A LOT just running for president!

I have heard Barack Obama is an excellent listener. Regardless of their different stances on issues. I guarantee you, Obama is listening intently to Bush. There are just some things he will never be prepared for when he takes office and he knows it.

Pink-It's the white house... what was offensive or racist about the comment. Maybe you are hypersensitive... on a lighter note.. Michelle's dress is very flattering. Being a tall woman myself 5'10", I know it can be difficult to find dresses that fit. I have a long torso myself, which is probably my problem, but damn Mrs. OBama's got some legs on her.... I love seeing Bush being shown in a positive light... bout time there is some fairness in media. Oh and i cracked up watching Mr. Obama almost forgetting to guide his wife out of the car... haha

Love Michelle's dress... I might be developing a girl crush on her. So stuff is hitting the wire about what Obama and Bush spoke about yesterday. I just read an article that Obama asked for more bailout money for automakers and Bush wants to pass the Columbia Free Trade agreement that Dems have been blocking before he leaves office. I think this discussion of union support vs. free trade is a perfect example of how divided Repubs and Dems can be on issues, as well as shows the give and take that happens on the Hill when we have a divided government.

This pic makes me feel so excited and proud! I think it's very very symbolic. Bush will make a lot of money from being a public speaker still, he will tour UK and the rest of the world. I think he's ready to retire. I feel sorry for him for being so greedy! Anyway Michele looks amazing. I love the fact that she chooses red. The dress suits her very much. She looks stunning and powerful.

Looking at these pictures makes me realize how much Bush has aged since he has taken office. Granted, that's like a down side of the job... become president, age 10+ years... but wow. Bush against the youth of Obama is startling.

Michelle O is 6'1", and the senator is taller. Will their feet hang over the bed?

It's nice to see these pictures. I don't think their meeting had to be awkward, whats done is done. They're all gracious and I'm sure they had much to discuss and talk about. It's got to be hard for the Bush's to leave a place they've called home for such a long time.

Marni, it's Silver Spring, MD not Silver Springs! (Sorry, i'm from the area and that's a constant source of annoyance...especially if its from a former resident! i hope it was a typo...)
