David and Kara decided the perfect place for engagement photos was in Galveston, TX, at the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, which is a coastal Texas icon. They started out in the old downtown Galveston area, near a building that had Coca-Cola logo painted on the side of it. David brought his vintage truck and tools, and Kara wore a plaid shirt. The photographer said that they were "absolutely adorable from the get-go."
According to his mother, David has loved Kara his whole life, but she was too young for him. So they waited until she was a little bit older before he finally proposed.
The photographer detailed the shoot: "I had hardly any trouble directing them for posing — it was so natural! Then we headed to the seawall, where Kara rode her bike that David made and gave to her as her first gift from him. He wood burned her name onto the side of the bicycle just under the seat. He rode his bike as well, and onlookers couldn't take their eyes off of them. We headed to the pier to get more photos, and the only ride we were able to get on was the Ferris wheel. Now, this Ferris wheel is on the very end of the pier and is much bigger than you'd think. I about had a heart attack, but we got the shot! The last location was the beach and under the pier. By this time, it was sunset and much cooler. They danced in the water, took a stroll on the beach, and snuggled in the sand. "
