Trojan Wants You to Wear a Condom

Ahh, Trojan, the makers of the condoms we know and love, are beginning a campaign called Trojan Evolve. They're touring the US to raise awareness about the poor state of sexual health in America to urge Americans to petition for change. This program came about from the recent statistics that discovered one in four teenage girls has an STIsyphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, HPV, and chlamydia are all on the rise, and so are teenage pregnancies. Trojan wants to attack these issues head on — to inspire a positive movement towards healthy sexual behaviors. Check out this video to see what it's all about.

Want to hear more then

Their tour bus is going to travel across the country to encourage people to make a personal pledge to use a condom every time they have sex. They're even going to videotape people's testimonials and post them on the Trojan Evolve website. I'm happy to hear that this program is also advocating for more comprehensive sex ed in schools, instead of "abstinence only" education. This video touches on some alarming statistics so I'm glad that Trojan is stepping up to the plate to help do their part to make a change. What do you think about this campaign?

I still can't comprehend the vast amount of taxpayer dollars wasted on abstinance only sex education programs. I applaud Trojan for taking a comprehensive look at the state of sexual health in the US today. I agree with you omilawd, and last time I went to Warped Tour, I saw the same thing. Also, in New Orleans, there are sometimes Trojan representatives on Bourbon Street, especially during holidays.

I know a lot of people who are educated fully about STDs and pregnancy and still choose not to protect themselves. We need to make that unacceptable behavior and not let our friends and loved ones do that to themselves. To a certain extent education will help but ultimately it's up to the people.

It's nice to see a company using marketing to promote good causes. A nearby tanning salon decided to make breast cancer it's cause after some random study showed that tanning might decrease the odds of getting breast cancer. That was seriously the most tasteless marketing ever.

This is awesome! I totally support a comprehensive sex ed program. You have to have your head stuck in the sand to think that abstinence only is going to reduce STIs and teen pregnancies. It doesn't work... look that facts. I have 3 siblings and we were taught abstinence only and all 4 of us had sex in our teen years! Everyone I know that was taught abstinence only has had teen sex and sex before marriage (most of them with multiple people!)It's time that the government realizes that we need to spend more on comprehensive sex ed not just abstinence only!!

I'm all for it. Any way that information like this can be spread is good enough for me. Concerts are the perfect place to promote condom usage (I've been to numerous concerts where free condoms and pamphlets were being handed out) b/c so many diverse age ranges attend concerts.

This is great. It really opens your eyes, but offers what you can do to make it better.

When I went to Warped Tour a few years ago, there were a few Trojan tents that were giving away information and free condoms. They've also had tents set up at a few other events I've been to. To me, it seems like they're genuinely concerned about sexual health than selling their product, and I like that. :]
