I'm 24 and Engaged, and No, I'm Not Too Young to Get Married

Trust Is A Dealbreaker

Dear Sugar
Last May, my boyfriend of 2 years had a party at his house when we were in the middle of a fight. He wouldn't pick up my phone calls, so I went to his house and when I showed up, a girl opened the door. They were the only 2 people left. After 2 days of watching him grovel in apologies, I forgave him. But then, when I was snooping through his phone, I saw that he had been talking to her every day for 2 weeks. I was upset but we didn't break up. It's been a year and we are still together. He hasn't spoken to her since. Although things seem to be fine, I can't help but wonder what really happened. Do you think that I shouldn't have taken him back or do you think that taking him back might have been a mistake? Worry Wort

Dear Worry Wort
Besides this incident, does your boyfriend give you any reason not to trust him? If so, break up with him. If not, then give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Last May was almost a year ago already. Maybe nothing happened - or maybe they were flirting - but he ultimately chose you. You can't beat him up forever about it. If you chose to forgive him then put this behind you and move on. If you can't do that because you feel like you'll never really trust him again, then you've got let him go.
