Tyra Banks Being Sued

Sex Addict's Mom Wants to Protect Her . . . From Sex Addicts

Who's smizing now? A McDonough, GA, woman is suing Tyra Banks for $3 million, after the woman's then-15-year-old daughter appeared on an episode of Tyra in 2009 to talk about her experience as a teen sex addict.

The sex addict part apparently isn't the problem; the issue is that the teen allegedly made the trip to New York and appeared on the show without mom's permission. Talk about picking your battles! The woman, who's a social worker herself, worries that the Tyra episode "was undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles alike."

Probably true — most sexual deviants never miss an episode of Tyra! But it does make me wonder if that concern would've been more useful before her daughter flew alone to New York, stayed in a hotel, and filmed the show? In any case, don't hold your breath for a chance to judge the episode in question for yourself; she's seeking an injunction against any future repeats of the show.

The article doesn't state how she got away with it, but I'm sure it was a long list of forging, lies, and a complete lack of parental supervision. Bet the mother found out through coworkers or something similar, and isn't loving the bed she made.

I guess she does have a case, though. Like Vampyre said, they would have had to get the mom's permission. How a 15-year-old could do this without their mother knowing is beyong me, though...

Wouldn't the show have had to have some form of contract signed by the minor's mother in order for her to appear on the show?

Totally agree with you, SKG. This is a mother who can't take responsibility for her horrible parenting skills. If you can even call them skills.

I ditto what SKG said. Plus, how the heck could she not know where her 15 year old daughter disappeared to for a week?

she should hold her own daughter accountable for what happened and move on. Instead of trying to get rich quick, she should try to work on her relationship with her kid.

I actually watched this episode, but I'm with SKG. Maybe you should check out your parenting skills.

Ah America. Sue your way to riches citizens!I only ever watched a bit of Tyra once (daytime TV should be ashamed of itself) when recuperating after clavicle surgery. She had some people on who had eaten tapeworm larvae which would grow into full-blown tapeworms. This was done to ostensibly lose weight.
