Venus Embrace Closest Stiletto Relay Pictures

Picture It: These Heels Were Made For Running

One woman set the record for the fastest 100-meter dash in stilettos while raising money for breast cancer in Sydney today. The race, sponsored by Venus, required women to run in at least three-inch heels. At the finish line, they shaved their legs before training for their next big race to raise money for their inevitable shin splints.

Just donate some money to a charity and save yourself the risk.

Wait, they shaved their legs at the finish line? Did they have to run with hairy legs while wearing heels?

It is ridiculous to raise money for one health issue by risking your physical well-being. I wonder how many women get hurt training for these races.

Obviously, I was referring to the actual activity, not the charity aspect. Kind of a waste of time to put that spin on it, monday. Running on heels is just asking for a rolled or sprained ankle. I can't imagine signing up for something like this. They are wearing stilettos, which means there's a ton of impact on a tiny sliver of shoe each time they come down, so ability to run in heels doesn't have that much to do with this being on the dangerous side.

I can't see how raising money for charity, even if the event is silly, is stupid.

I feel like I would rock this race. I can run quite fast in heels.
