Tonight Vice President Joe Biden went head to head with VP hopeful Paul Ryan in the first (and only) vice presidential debate at the Norton Center at Centre College in Danville, KY. After the presidential debate last week, both men had a lot riding on this event, and luckily they had their supportive wives in the audience. Joe's wife of 35 years, Jill Biden, donned a purple frock as she waved to the attendees. And Paul's wife, Janna Ryan, flashed a big smile in her pink dress and jacket. While Joe brought up the tragic car accident that took the lives of his first wife and baby daughter — something Jill also referenced when introducing him at the Democratic National Convention — Paul shared a story about going with his wife to see the ultrasound of their eldest daughter who looked like a "bean," which is why their nickname for her is now "Liza bean." After their closing statements, both families joined the debaters onstage at the end. See the ladies show their support (and affection) now!
