Video of Oprah Giving Studio Audience Trip to Australia

What's the Most Over-the-Top Gift You've Received?

Oprah kicked off her final season yesterday by giving ecstatic audience members a free trip to Australia with her . . . and John Travolta? Check out the video below. While only the very lucky have sat in Oprah's audience on one of her generous days, I bet most of us have received generous presents. Maybe our parents bought us a plane ticket for our birthday, or a partner treated us to a getaway to celebrate an anniversary. Be it a vacation, artwork you'd been eyeing, or a special piece of jewelry, what's the most over-the-top present you've received?

I think the most outrageous thing was getting a $100 check for my wedding from my husband's distant relatives. We sent them a wedding invitation and they actually had no idea who we were and they still sent us money! They asked around and found out that we are, in fact, related to them. :)

My friends and family don't have the money to make gifts that classify as over the top, even if it's an outrageous expense to them. We used to have a neighbor though who'd buy things brand new and after a few days decide he didn't want them any more. He'd just give them to us instead of returning them (like a movie projector or fitness equipment)

My ex got both my parents to throw down on a remote-start for my car for Christmas. It was extra special because my parents are bitterly divorced, I never imagined they would do anything nice for me together.
