Physical and secret relationships(even if the other person is in a relationship but somehow she's texting back and forth with my bf and he's never even mentioned this girls name or introduced me) then that I would count as cheating. My father was cheating on my mother(who knows if he still is) for over the past two years. She found out after checking one of his voice mail's because she thought it might be his work calling. He had called our cell phone company to not send out paper statements for over 3-4 years now so we never saw who anyone was talking to BUT we went online and they store 18months of past bills and the evidence was every where. They were calling back and forth to one another at LEAST 15 times every single hour! His response is he never met her in person or did anything with her just talk on the phone but I'm like what 50 year old man would want to talk to anyone that much with nothing physical in return? It's their business but I think the betrayal is what kills the most. Once trust is gone I don't think there is a lot that can be done to repair something like that. I've cheated and been cheated on and know that once he cheated that's all you can think of... but after I cheated on him it did feel like revenge but he never found out about it... But once I did I knew for sure I didn't even want to be in that relationship anymore.

To clarify - something sexual. Going to a movie with a guy friend is obviously not cheating!

To me, things can be "forgiveable" but that doesn't mean that you aren't cheating!Cheating is doing something with someone other than who you are with.

I think Venus made some good points..popular or not. Sometimes, I think people who cheat are just spoiled and selfish. But, it may not always be the case.

I've been cheated on and I've cheated and I know that you only get to that moment of weakness (kissing) if you are not truly involved in your relationship. With my now-boyfriend I know I could never even get close to kissing someone because the thought is absurd to me. I love and respect him too much and he is always on my mind.

Well id probably say that cheating is doing everything that you do with your partner with some one else.....

I'm probably not going to make myself very popular on this response but it is my point of view. Cheating is really about sport, it is about one person breaking the rules due to being too competitive and a great desire to win at all odds. In a relationship we are talking about feelings, emotions and perhaps someone not being totally happy with their situation. Unlike sports cheating it often evolves unplanned and can cause much anxiety. I am not saying it is right I am just saying that it is not always that clear cut.

Because kissing is a moment of weakness; a moment of weakness is forgivable. A moment of weakness is barely worth mentioning. But if you actual get to the point where the pants are coming off, and you don't have the presence of mind to stop, that's cheating.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you feel like kissing is cheating? I'm guessing we're talking about real kissing, not like a peck or something. I know a lot of people feel the same way, but I've always wondered why.

I don't think kissing and flirting are cheating, as long as it doesn't become a regular thing. I had a hard time voting on the revenge sex one though... if you try to get revenge on some you obviously don't care about them, is it considered cheating if you don't care about the person on the receiving end? I can't believe 'is oral sex cheating?' isn't on here...

Anything physical, which you do not participate in together, is cheating to me. That includes kissing. Flirting, hanging out with an ex, little crushes are all fine. Oh, and kissing a celebrity. Because, yeah, it's technically cheating, but who cares?
