What Is The Most Embarrassing Thing Your Father Has Ever Done To You?

Growing up my Dad did everything from tease me to tickle me to play little pranks on me. While sometimes I have to admit he could be funny, I was often just a tad too sensitive to really appreciate his humor and I would get upset.

I've got to hand it to you. You guys have some of the most bananas stories I've ever heard! I can't wait to hear what you have to say about your Daddies.

My dad has always been a goof and that must be where I get it from. He's always making everyone laugh, but sometimes theres a time and place for everything. It was when I was in 9th grade and my first year of high school. Of course I have a reputation to build.. and he didnt help very much. It was in January right after the first set of exams and we were only there until lunch. He was supposed to be picking me up on his lunch break. He owns an electrical company and drives a crazy molester van [LOL] and showed up at my schools door wearing coveralls, big thick glasses, an elmer fudd hat and massive rubber boots. He looked like something that crawled out of the back woods. He ran over to give me a hug with a handicapp look on his face. I almost died and hid my face as I walked outside. There were tons of people around too, and they just stared and burst out laughing. As soon as I got in the van I buried my face between my knees. That sucked HUGE.

I wish he would have been around to embarrass me like that! You guys are so lucky. The one real embarrassment was when he didn't show for my high school graducation when I graduated in the top 10 and they had the parents take a group shot. But later in life, I got blessed with a wonderful step dad who embarrasses my mom!

My Dad just wanted to be a part of everything in my life including the girl stuff. But I was always embarrased to talk to him about that stuff. Even boys. It was just too embarrassing!

My Dad was always considered a "cool" dad...I grew up hearing my friends talk about how "cute" they thought he was. While I found that embarassing, nothing tops what he did the Christmas after I turned 18. I had been dating the same guy for three months at this point, so my parents invited him to our traditional Christmas brunch. After eating, we settled in the living room to open gifts. The family rule is that everyone has to hold up their unwrapped gifts and stocking stuffers so everyone else can see what they got. I innocently reached into my stocking and pulled out a HUGE box of condoms. The combination of parents, siblings, new boyfriend, and condoms had me pretty red in the face! Dad laughed his butt off (his sense of humor is a little "off")...and it didn't freak the guy out too bad, since he's been my husband for almost seventeen years now.

Well, I don't know my bio-dad, but my former stepfather used to like to wait to punish me till someone was at our house. I was having a hard time in school in the 4th grade, and he would invite a friend of his (or mine) over, ask "What would your dad have done if you got grades like this?" and then punish me. It was usually a spanking or making me stand in the corner. To this day, nothing makes me angrier than seeing a kid publicly humiliated by their parent.

Woah, option 3 is SO Pimp Daddy Simpson, ew! My dad's never really embarassed me, he's generally very quiet in public, I have embarassed myself because of him though- one time my whole family was at a restuarant & my dad had got up to fetch my brother from the kiddie playroom & I'd got up to go find him. So I saw him in his leather jacket with his back to me, so I grabbed his shoulders & spun him around to face me, saying 'Where's mom?'. It was only then that I looked up into his face and realised it wasn't my dad at all!!! So embarassing! But my mom's the most embarassing one in my family, when there's a post up on embarassing mom's I'll have plenty to say!!!

My dad was the president of my high school's Parents and Friends for most of my time at high school. Once a year he had to come to our assembly and give a P&F report to the students. The worst part was that he had to sit up on stage in front of everyone. He'd be sitting there next to the principal searching the crowd of impatient teenagers to find me. He'd spot me, point and wave. And not even remotely in a subtle way. It doesn't sound like much, but as a teenager I was totally mortified. Especially the one time I was sitting next to a boy (who I happened to have a crush on). I just wanted the ground to swallow me up when the boy turned to me and said: "Oh, hey, that's right. That's your dad isn't it?"

My dad had a great sense of humor; and made it his mission to embarrass me when I was in high school! When he would drop me off in the mornings he would be sure to pull right up to the front, turn the windshield wipers on (it wasn't raining!), roll down the windows, and blast polka music! Of course, everyone would turn and stare! I was mortified! He also loved to go into women's clothing stores at the mall, and stand in the front window and act like a mannequin! People would crowd around and laugh! Now I look back and laugh, but at the time, I dreaded being in public together, never knowing what he would do next!

I had a hard enough time coming up with something about my mother and now we're doing the fathers, huh? Alright, let me think here. I guess the only thing would be the way he dressed sometimes. He was color and pattern blind so some of the combinations were a little scary. We got to where we always bought him solids for every occasion: Solid pants, solid shirts, solid socks....that way, the only thing he could do was mess up on color. But he was one of the sweetest men who ever walked the earth.

One time he wore this really crazy shirt...it's not his style at all. He is very conservative so, the whole family was pretty shocked. :ROTFL: just thinking about that crazy looking shirt...on my Dad no less!!

A) and he's even gone as far as to clean his shotgun during the conversation. Yet, I'm sure I've embarrassed him many times. Once, he forgot to come to one of my ballet recitals he promised to attend, so as "punishment", I sent him to the store for a bunch of pads and tampons. He was mortified! We have a great relationship like that... we play pranks on each other and follow the same sports teams. It's fun to have a dad who loves you enough to embarrass, and be embarrassed for, you. -the ceeg
