What Other Time Would You Like to Live In?

Time Travels: What Other Time Would You Like to Live In?

A friend of mine took a conceptual art class and was given an assignment to assume another identity. The result? A '70s folk band called The Hartwoods. While the band didn't actually have any music, they did have a thriving MySpace music page, fans who didn't know they were fake, and these very special pictures.

The Hartwoods may have never achieved the Internet fame they deserved, but this project did make me think. (That's what conceptual art is for!) If I could be my age now in another decade, or century, what would it be? I'm torn between the '20s and '60s — what about you?

Definitely the late 50s and early 60s for me based on the fashion, design and everything that was going on in popular culture.

I'd love to have a little time in the early 1940's in London. The glamour and the music! (And I could get my hands on a RAF greatcoat and not have to pay a mint) Id also love to experience the 90's properly, the 90's were my childhood and I feel like I missed a helluva lot (too obsessed with Sunniboys and choki choki's), I love 90's music and would have loved to have seen the early days of some of my favorite bands.

The late 60s-70s. But, I might run into some problems.

The late sixties or early 70's. I would be so disco swinger.

Maybe the 60's or 70's... Even though I lived through the 90's, I've often wished I was born a little earlier so I could have experienced it more. Long live grunge.

I hate the smell of patchouli (sorry 60's) and I love to party and dance all night... so maybe the 70's.... I have dreams of partying it up at Studio 54 and I love all the sexy, shiny outfits. I like the 20's and 30's, but I'm WAAYYY too outspoken to live in a time where it wasn't acceptable for women to be like that.

Jazz Age Shanghai, as long as there was a guarantee I could get out before 1937.

oh god, for me personally there are too many to fathom having so many lifetimes, I would have liked to have been alive for The rococo princess days in austria/france, the geisha/maiko days in japan, the fifties and sixties, not because of how women were treated, but god dont i love the fashion, the seventies, because people tell me i would have fit in super well then, The eighties because who doesnt secretely wish they were alive and of partying age in the eighties? yeah there are too many times in history that i would like to go back to.
