What TV 2009 Character Makes You Happy to Be a Woman?

What 2009 TV Character Makes You Happy to Be a Woman?

Mad Men's Peggy Olson may break glass ceilings and 30 Rock's Liz Lemon may run the show, but career success is not all there is to being a woman. Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf and Glee's Sue Sylvester remind us that being selfish is an option — whether it's in Givenchy or Adidas.

Ugly Betty says that looks have nothing to do with success, and the entire cast of Entourage proves that looks and success mean nothing — and God, we're glad to be female! As for Pam from The Office, with the exception of her husband (questionable), she's the only sane person there. And, well, we'd just like to be her friend!

I know the show was canceled; but I really respect and love the character of Wendy played by Brooke Sields on Lipstick Jungle. It seems like sometimes feminism means giving up the traditional gender roles of being a wife and mother; and; while I don't think a woman has to have children to be fulfilled and happy; I identify with anything that shows it is not only possible but realistic to be, not only a working mom, but a mom and wife who works in a very high-powered career. I think that is one of the most empowering things a woman can learn...

None of these women made me proud of being a woman. If I'm look to t.v. as a source for pride, I've started attaining any.

I don't validate myself through female characters. :)

I'm sort of with greenfairy on this one. But I picked Blair anyway, 'cause I love her, and I covet covet covet her wardrobe (and her Chuck).

Meh, none of these weirdos make me 'happy' to be a woman....indeed, NOTHING makes me 'happy' to be a woman. Its not like I had a choice or anything...

I watch both Glee and Gossip Girl. I'm slightly offended you called Sue a poor man's bitch. She is so not. Convincing other schools to cheat, leaking a girl's pregnancy, kicking said girl off the cheer leading team, and having your dry cleaning shipped to China is way more bitch than Blair. Sorry, try again.

I voted for "The entire cast of Entourage." I've seen like, four episodes. What insufferable d-bags. Also, for some reason, some of the actors took a trip up to my fine city this summer - and were complete assholes to all the service staff I know that they came in contact with.

Tie between Betty and Blair. Love Betty because she pretty much gets success in her career and love life by keeping a positive attitude and being nice. Love Blair because she embodies femininity and power- a deadly combination!

Tied between Sue and Blair. Blair is a bitch, but she's a gorgeous and stylish bitch. Sue's the poor man's version of B. I love Will and I want to hate her for being so mean to him, but I just can't. Just as a little afterthought, Peggy and Joan should both be on this list. Yes, Peggy's breaking glass ceilings, but Joan's right behind her, looking fabulous.
