Where I'm Clicking Now: ConservativesForChange

With the electoral map looking like it might be wearing a dramatic shade of blue this Fall, I have to wonder who these trendsetters are. Not the independents or moderates, but those defying voting history and voting for the other party's candidate.

Conservatives For Change interviews Republicans who have not fallen in line, but have chosen their candidate with thought and, in many cases, reservation. Of course, that candidate is Barack Obama, but who's counting. Besides everyone?

Is this too touchy feely? The explanation you've been waiting for? Anyone here voting for a candidate they never imagined?

Anyways I did like the video, it was very thoughtful and went beyond just saying or plugging that they were voting for Obama.

I'd love to vote for Bob Barr, but his positions have changed to radically in the last couple of years. For me, it's hard to vote for anyone who vehemently supported the war on drugs for many years and voted for the Patriot Act.

Yeah I never thought I would be voting for Bob Barr this time around, but then again I never thought I would have vote for Gary Coleman for governor of California.I've also heard that Dweezel Zappa has a following for president.

Organic they're saying that McCain is too liberal? I thought that they were saying that McCain is pandering to the very narrow religious right and that more importantly he isn't showing the leadership abilities to lead this country.

Conservatives unhappy with McCain, so they pick the antithesis of most of their principles. This is a narrative I've been hearing a lot, even the Goldwater girl said this.Unfortunately, the logic doesn't follow through. If you're unhappy with your candidate, you don't vote for the polar opposite of it. Conservatives are unhappy with Mac because he's pretty liberal, so they vote for the most liberal candidate out of spite? This is ridiculous. In the interest of full disclosure: Personally, I won't be voting at all in this presidential election, out of spite. I'm unimpressed with all of the candidates, but I definitely won't be voting for the worst-case-scenario to send a message to the Republican party, because that doesn't make sense.

What I have found interesting over the last few weeks with republicans speaking out about changing their vote in this election is that there is a real grass roots feeling about how their party needs to change.Regardless of election outcome it sounds as though they are ready to reclaim their base
