My cat figured out where the light comes from. She'll chase the light for about a minute and then she'll sit there, just staring at the laser pointer likes she doesn't see any point in chasing it. My cat's too smart for her own good.

i bought one for my cats but they don't care about it. my last dog (100 pound pit) got so strung out that i couldn't play it with him because even up to a year after i had stopped he'd be going through the living room, stop, and look at the ceiling just to make sure it wasn't there! he was so funny...

Flippy: we had that (to a lesser degree) with our cats. Read that it helps if you start by shining the laser in your hand, then play with them, and then when you're done bring the laser back in to your hand and turn it off (like you're picking it up) then the cats will realize you're "taking" it and it's no longer available. Their minds don't jive well with things just disappearing. :)

:rotfl: my kitty (um, me that is) used to stare at the wall for an hour after i turned the laser pointer off. it got kind of sad, actually. i stopped using it.
