Wise Guide: a question about letting go

“To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.” -- Mary Oliver

How much fear do you have about losing that which you love? Do you feel emotionally and spiritually prepared to let go when that time arrives?

I'm never prepared to lose anybody close to me, although I tend to surprise myself when it does happen. However, the thought of losing my mother or my children is enough to send me into a panic attack. I can't even think about it.

I don't think I'll ever be prepared for losing anyone I love to dying. Losing a guy, for me due to a breakup or something is like water off my back though...but I hope my husband don't ever leave me cause if he did, I'de be a crying freak for a whole day! Oh man! (ye, I know...harsh....cold...hehehe well if he left that would only mean a couple of reasons..I've booted him out for something like cheating or I catch him in my bra and panties....errrrrrrrr and I'm pretty positive he wouldn't do either. :D

that's a great quote. my deepest wish is to never realize it, and yet it's closer than i can bear."heh-hu-ha-hu-heh-he-ha-hu; that's the woody wood pecker song"

I can't even think about it. Just the thought makes me cry.

The thought of losing my parents or one of my children scares the crap out of me. Death is inevitable, but how can you ever prepare for something like that? As strange as it sounds, Anna Nicole Smith's son passing away really brought home to me how much I'm not ready to lose the people closest to me.
