Sorry, but I'm not 14 years old. My parents stopped telling me what to do because I am an ADULT. This doesn't mean you can't get your parents' advice on matters, but doing whatever they tell you to do?! Hope you have a good therapist on call to deal with your dependency issues.

I think this is a good one as well. For the most part, I listen to my parents. They are wise beyond their years and almost always give good advice. We have our disagreements, but I hope I will be as good a parent as they are.

This is a good one ... I find that, as with most people my age, I've gone through the teenage phase of rebellion and always thinking that i "DO" know better, to now just being able to listen more open-mindedly. I'll always listen and be open to changing my opinion or preconceptions, but not always follow their advice. Not everyone has the benefit of parents who are interested enough to offer advice; why not take it? As long as you can discern between whether they understand the situation enough etc and are not being forced or pressured in anyway to follow what they say, that is..

Ha! I'm still scared of my Mom when she gets mad! After 30 years of teaching, she's got 'the look' down to a fine art. However, she does give good advice, and wants what's best for me, even if it seems like she's being a pain at the time and I have a lot of respect for her. I stopped listening to my Dad years ago because, well, the more I'm away from home, the more close-minded he seems. He tries to help me with my job, he seems to forget that I'm pretty replaceable where in his, he's pretty safe. That and he's pretty immature about stuff.
