MegN 6 years I've never done this for work, but I've had days where I've gone to school, had a minor mental break down and went right back home again. Do I want to start crying in front of people? Nope, time to go home. wiggle 6 years Amen to that! wiggle 6 years Amen to that! bluestar 6 years Love this! bluestar 6 years Love this! aimeeb 6 years Course! aimeeb 6 years Course! runningesq 6 years I have personal leave that I can use how I please ... if I'm not in court and having a slow week, I may take a day off to recharge ! Kelliegrl 6 years I'm glad my company has an allotted amount of personal days. It's very helpful! clareberrys 6 years Well, when you work in the mental health field you DEFINITELY need a personal mental health day. My coworkers and I don't do this too often, but it's no secret that people do it at work. Dealing with other people's shit all day can be stressful and you need a day to recoup. care0531 6 years I did it today as well! I just hate how my life seems to be on fast forward sometimes. I got a lot of work done around the house and then I also napped and read a book. I am ready for a new day! care0531 6 years I did it today as well! I know several who do this and think nothing of it. I schedule my vacation time with Fridays off for several months. That gives me a "veg out" day, or I schedule appointments for them. My co-workers get ticked, but I remind them that I have earned my time and how I use it is up to me. I also remind them that I do not ABUSE my leave. But, watchya gonna do? heatherhas 6 years Around this time of year, I like to call it "spring fever" :) greenapples1987 6 years i feel there is nothing wrong with taking a mental health day!! sometimes you just need a day off. i've taken them before, and i often suggest my boy take one every now in then because his job can be so stressful!! i have to limit myself, due to the fact that i'm a full time college studnet!! i'm hardly ever sick, so i just take my sick days as mental health days:) miss-malone 6 years Nah, I don't take off just for the heck of it. I can find time when I'm not working or on the weekend to just chill out. nutmeg84 6 years I'd feel too guilty doing this! I am grateful to have my job, a lot of my friends are out of work due to the economy. Hiding55 6 years This is frowned upon at my office. I need permission to take a day off and if I call in sick I better damn well be sick.
