Why Do Guys Mess Up Healthy Relationships?

Are You Into Funny Guys?

I love a guy with a sense of humor, and it turns out I'm not the only one that falls for the jokester. A recent study conducted by psychologist Kristofor McCarty found that funny guys get the girls because humor makes men seem "more intelligent, trustworthy — and a better bet for a relationship." Of course hilarity makes everything else more fun, but tell me, is a funny guy a must for you, too?

I have met very few guys who have the same sense of humor as me. I am sarcastic and love laughing at ridiculous people and behaviour. I tend to date guys that are smart. But I have never met one that really makes me laugh a lot. I wish I could meet more people with my warped sense of humor!

I more need a guy who is willing to take my sarcasm and slightly odd (and sometimes maniacal) sense of humor in stride, the way my BF does. He doesn't just do that, a lot of times he turns it back on me! He wins most of our joke volleys, though I always swear I'll get him next time! :D

My guy is ALWAYS making me laugh. But he's not the obnoxious "class clown" type. He's just generally funny. :) I really wouldn't have it any other way!

Is that guy supposed to be a priest (I'm talking about the pic), seeing the black and white collar and all LOL, but a cutie nonetheless thou. Sure, I'm into funny guys, as long as they know when to get serious, and hopefully that their sense of humor match mine. Because what one guy thinks is funny may not be funny to another, y'know.

No I don't want a "funny guy", as in, he is the class clown that makes everyone laugh. I want a guy that has the same sense of humor as me so we can laugh and have fun together, sure. Being witty and sarcastic are the best and just telling stories in a funny way, like being completely serious about the story even though you know it's hilarious....it's something you either have or don't, lol. :D But like Marci said, some guys don't know when to be serious, and will avoid conflict, awkward situations, and other things by trying to turn everything into a joke. That's absolutely horrible when you feel like your bf doesn't ever ever ever take you seriously (like when you're completely pissed at him and obviously trying to have a serious conversation, and all all he does is cut you off to joke and laugh....not cool).

Yes, I love a great sense of humor in a guy... but I have dated guys who were too silly/stupid funny and it was annoying!

Hells yesss. But subtle funny like others have mentioned. I had an ex, my first one actually...such a fuckin idiot. He would do "jackass" type stuff, at the time, i was 15, I thought it was funny...but he's like in his mid 20's and still acts like that and I just think it's freakin annoying and I mentally bitchslap myself for thinking that crap was EVER funny. I like sarcastic funny, that's right up my alley. I don't need him to be the center of attention.

We have fun, but neither of us are really 'funny'. He tells a bad joke, I don't get it, then we laugh about it.

i joke around all the time and if he doesn't get it or doesn't enjoy it with me how am i supposed to relate to that person and feel attracted? he HAS to be a bit funny at least.

I have broken up with bf's because I continued the polite date laugh into the 3rd or 4th month of the relationship. I have a very weird sense of humor so to find a guy that laughs at what I laugh at is rare but very appreciated. My current bf makes me laugh from my soul and I love him for it. I told him that he was one of maybe three guys who REALLY made me laugh but the only that I dated.

I always tell people that I can't ever stay mad at my husband for more than 5 minutes because he always manages to make me laugh about the situation and I just can't seem to stay angry with him. He's not the "class clown" type, but he says and does things sometimes that just make me crack up.

I just need a guy who'll make me laugh. Other people don't need to find him funny, but as long as I find him funny that's all that matters.

I'm with pretty much everyone else. I want to think he's funny, but I certainly don't want a "funny guy". Class clown is a no.

LoL *waits for the priest jokes* Being funny should come somewhat natural...obnoxiousness I would imagine is a turn off? Even if it were mixed with vanilla humor with sprinkles on top? (Sorry Good Humor pun, it's terrible I know) ~_^?
