I'm not planning. Not my thing. I discussed what I want and my mum has planned the whole thing :)

Rather than getting palpitations, sleepless nights and a stomach ulcer, I'm getting married next June in South Africa in my fiance's parents' garden, where my man grew up. The ceremony will be conducted by his dad, who's a pastor. It will be simple, fun and so easy-going. Anyway, what more could I be asking for than a caring, loving man? Not a merangue dress and a £50000 bill, thanks! :)

With my guy, he's told me he was going to propose numerous times, but hasn't. This is over a 4 year span. I try not to get too excited anymore, just a big letdown. I pretty much know what I want, so all is well. I'm hoping money will allow for a Disneyland (California Adventure actually) wedding :)

Yes. I'm having a summer wedding on a lighthouse in Oregon. I'm only inviting a few close people and there is not any pressure to come. I could not imagine having to do wedding planning in great detail it would drive me insane.

I'm getting married in August!!! Very excited but I'd be happy to just skip the wedding and go right to the honeymoon. :) Wedding planning is the pits!

xxstardust - that proves my point. It just seems really arbitrary to me to deem April as "wedding season" (when there are other months when weddings are much more common) and to then post contrived wedding-themed posts on every OnSugar blog. But, from the looks of it, a lot of people are into it, so I guess I'm in the minority.

Lots of luck to you skigurl! I'm getting married in two and a half months! I'm losing my mind too! It's why I haven't been around much, I've been on wedding blogs constantly!

Chloe - in the industry, May, June and September is considered "wedding season". We have WAY more weddings then than at any other time of year ... and you pay as much as 30-40% more for all of your services then!

Definitely could live without wedding overload... that said, can recommend a calligrapher for those of you going the handwritten announcement route - ProCalligraphy.com. Congratulations to the engaged/happily married/happily single :-)

You're missing an option: Planning a wedding, but no ring yet :p I'm hoping my guy will propose within the next few months. If he doesn't, I'm out the door. We've been together for more than 5 years, I've waited long enough. I recently found a site called WeddingWire, it's my latest addiction. You can browse photos and put them on Inspiration Boards. There's even a forum, checklists, a program for making seating charts, budget planner, guest list program, and many more things. I would love a WeddingSugar.

July 3 2010. :) We've been engaged since June 2008 and my fiancee has handled most of the planning. We are pretty much done with all the big things and it seems to be smooth sailing from here. We've had enough time to plan, save, and enjoy the process.

I totally agree with tlsgirl and runningesq. The occasional post wouldn't bother me, but last year they reeeeally stretched it by putting wedding posts on sites they blatantly didn't belong on. Also, I don't get the whole "wedding season" thing. Engagements are the biggest around Christmas, and I've been to more fall weddings than spring ones.
