Everyone's favorite comedy couple decided to split in September after nine years of marriage, which sparked a lot of "love doesn't exist" debate on Twitter. Will and Amy's separation was reportedly "amicable" as they continue to raise their two adorable children. "We are genuinely each other's fans and we love what the other does," Amy once said of her man. "I don't know a lot of other couples where you're with your partner and you're like, 'I love what you do at work!'" Aw, we'll miss these two!
Hands down, the biggest shocker of the year was Kristen Stewart's cheating scandal with her married Snow White director, Rupert Sanders. It wasn't just hearsay, there was actual photographic proof! And for the first time, basically ever, Kristen acknowledged her relationship with Robert Pattinson. Sadly enough, it came in the form of an apology to him.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," her statement read. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry." Lucky for Kristen (and Twihards everywhere), Rob loves her so much that he decided to forgive her.
Another Twilight heartbreak! Peter and Jennie seem like such great people. Not to mention, they were together for nearly two decades! Yes, you read that correctly. "It's very painful to break up with somebody, especially after you've been together for 17 years and have kids," Peter recently told Kelly Ripa. So sad! It's nice to see that these two are still focused on their kids, though!
Another divorce that was quite the shocker this year was between Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes and her A-lister man Tom Cruise. Katie quietly filed divorce from her hubby of five years back in June. Sources say it came as a shock to Tom, while others claim they had a "five-year agreement" and she wanted out. Specifics of their incredibly quick divorce settlement remain under wraps, but rumor has it, Katie didn't want their daughter, Suri, attending Scientology school. Who knows, but it was definitely one of the biggest shockers of the year! RIP TomKat!
Sure, they're young. But after dating for two years, I don't think anyone was ready for the drama (and cheating rumors!) that accompanied Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's breakup in October. Between the cryptic tweets, angry paparazzi photos, and lingering Victoria's Secret models, these two had the rockiest breakup we've seen in a while. Lucky for Justin, it seems Selena has decided to forgive him . . . for now.
We don't know about you, but one of our favorite memories is watching Matilda. So it came as a major blow when Danny and Rhea decided to part ways after 30 years of marriage. The couple has three adult children together and are still reportedly friends. Also, there might be hope of a reconciliation! Danny recently told Extra, "We're working on it." We're crossing our fingers for these two to work it out!
Supermodel Heidi Klum called it quits with hubby Seal in January of this year, after which he told paps he was disappointed she decided to "fornicate with the help." Yikes! He later rescinded the statement, but the damage was done. Rumors were flying that the Project Runway judge started dating her bodyguard Martin Kirsten. She only recently confirmed their relationship to Katie Couric. "I don't even know if I can call it that, you know?" she said of Martin being her boyfriend. "It just started so I don't know. I don't know where it's gonna go." Sorry guys, no more Heidi and Seal Halloween parties!
After nearly 14 years together, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis confirmed they parted ways back in June. And to be honest, we're surprised we even found out, given the couple's fairly low-key relationship. Their rep didn't say much about the divorce other than that it was an "amicable" split. Rumor has it, the duo's marriage fell apart after they moved to Los Angeles from France. But look on the bright side: Johnny Depp is single! Oh wait, he already has a new leading lady who he claims to be in love with. Maybe next year!
It's bad enough One Tree Hill was coming to an end after nine seasons, but news that Sophia Bush and her on-and-offscreen beau Austin Nichols called it quits earlier this year really made us sad. Sophia isn't exactly lucky when it comes to love (she infamously married and quickly divorced costar Chad Michael Murray back in 2005 amid cheating rumors), and we thought Austin was the perfect guy for her!
"We met many years ago," Sophia once told Chelsea Handler about him. "He is a very, very good guy and I had been in a relationship with a very, very bad guy." Luckily enough, these two still seem to be friends after all they've been through together. And hey, we always have Brooke and Julian!
Third time is not the charm for Dennis Quaid. Kimberly Buffington first separated from the Vegas star back in March, but decided quickly that they wanted to try to stay together. However, it unfortunately didn't work and she filed for legal separation for good in October after an eight-year marriage. Quaid, who was previously married to Meg Ryan and P.J. Soles, will reportedly get visitation rights of the couple's 4-year-old twins.
