A Widow For One Year

Hands down one of the most thought-provoking novels I've ever read about a dad and a daughter, A Widow For One Year is split into two equally compelling halves: the first half (made into a movie, The Door in the Floor) focuses on womanizing children's book writer Ted Cole when his daughter Ruth is a child. Later, it focuses on the adult Ruth grappling with the complicated fallout of being her father's daughter.
