Can you imagine getting a call that your child was injured at school by a piece of airborne fruit?
That's exactly what 26 families in Garfield Heights, Ohio, are contending with right now as they try to figure out how exactly a food fight was allowed to escalate into mayhem that included pushing and shoving, and led to cuts, bruises, head trauma, and even a broken wrist.
Dyshanea Scott, one of the injured kids, says the fight began with eighth graders throwing oranges "out of nowhere," and quickly spiraled out of control. The school district has begun an investigation.
