As If Parents Weren't Already Concerned Enough, 5 Kids Just Got Wrongfully Vaccinated

As if parents weren't already concerned enough with vaccines, this New Jersey clinic really dropped the ball. At the Memorial Hospital's "Shots For Tots" program, at least five children have been wrongfully vaccinated over the course of the last year. Gardasil, a controversial HPV vaccine, was given in excess to a 2-year-old boy; another child was given a shot of flu mist, despite being under the recommended age; two children were injected with expired vaccines; and the vaccine given to the fifth child is still under determination.

The clinic — which has since been shut down — made another seemingly careless and costly mistake of leaving $20,000 worth of vaccines unrefrigerated, which caused them to go bad. Officials say, "the county will pay for medical monitoring of the five affected kids 'for the foreseeable future.'"

Yikes.
