How an 8-Month-Old Baby Was Left to Die in a Wal-Mart Parking Lot

Almost every day of the Summer there is a new story about a baby left in a hot car, but even now that we're coming into Fall, it's still happening.

Jayce Markell Benjamin, an 8-month-old boy, was found dead in a car parked at a Wal-Mart in Macedonia, OH, where his grandmother works. Early Wednesday morning, Jayce and his three siblings were driven to day care by a parent or guardian, but he was left in the third row of the SUV upon arrival and driven back home, unbeknownst to the driver.

Later that morning, his grandmother took the car to her job at Wal-Mart, and around 5:30 p.m., the boy's mother called her to say that he didn't return from day care with the other three children. It was then that the realization settled in, and Jayce was found in the back of the car.

There's no word yet if charges will be filed, as the police are still conducting their investigation.
