This Mom's Epic Response to Her Son Bringing a Dead Squirrel to School: #JesusTaketheWheel

An Oklahoma mom went through an emotional roller coaster thanks to her little boy's antics.

At first Ladye Hobson was excited when the principal called because she was told that her child had made her day. But that pride quickly turned to confusion and then hysterics when she learned that the reason for it was because staff had found an unexpected critter stowed away in his bag. "The faculty has discovered a dead squirrel in his backpack (yeah, that 50 dollar Pottery Barn backpack)," Ladye shared on Facebook. "When asked by the principal what possessed him to pick up this dead squirrel and store it in his backpack, my son replies with 'I really wanted squirrel dumplings for dinner tonight.'"

Instead of immediately disposing of the deceased animal, the principal than actually asked Ladye if she wanted the carcass to come home with her son. "Y'all, I had to explain that we are from the country, but we're not THAT country. (Sorry if any of you actually eat squirrel dumplings - I don't mean that to be offensive)," Ladye wrote.

The principal thought that the dead squirrel looked so peaceful tucked into the backpack that she had to send a photo, but it's Layde's choice in hashtags that makes this unusual situation so amusing and relatable: #JesusTaketheWheel #LifeWithBoys #OperationBackpackSantitationIsUnderway.
