Jeremiah Succar, a 7-year-old cancer patient at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, only needed to listen to Rachel Platten's hit, "Fight Song," a few times before he committed the inspirational lyrics to memory.

"He used to sing it when he got a lot of headaches, but now he sings it in the morning, before bed and during shots he has to get," his dad, Jerry Succar, said on the hospital's blog.

So when Platten found out about her young fan through a Twitter campaign, she surprised Jeremiah — who was diagnosed in May with stage-four atypical rhabdoid teratoid, an aggressive, fast-growing tumor in the brain and spinal cord. At his bedside, she began an acoustic rendition of the boy's anthem, but the serenade immediately became a duet.

Watch as Jeremiah sings every word of the song alongside Platten. And, although we guarantee you'll shed some tears before the video is up, we also promise the boy's request at the end of the performance will leave you smiling.
