The Most Touching College Acceptance Ever

For high school seniors, there is nothing more exciting than being accepted to their dream college. But for Rion Holcombe, a 20-year-old with Down syndrome, the experience was especially rewarding.

"When he was born, nothing like this was a possibility," Rion's father, Danny Holcombe told Today.com. Rion has been accepted to Clemson Life, a program at Clemson University that helps young adults with intellectual disabilities develop the skills they need to live independently.

Danny and his wife, Susan, are happy for Rion, but like any parent, they aren't looking forward to him leaving. Though they only live an hour away, Danny says the administration prefers they not visit often. "We would go a lot, but the idea is to let them get on campus and let them be there," he said.
