Boy Pee

Why Didn't Anybody Tell Me: Boy Pee

Clearly there are differences between boys and girls. The main one being — anatomy. Most every newborn christens their parents with a golden shower during early diaper changes. Girls simply create a puddle while boys are known to shoot straight up. Hence, the invention of the Pee-pee Teepee. I didn't invest in the tiny soakers so I tried to throw a washcloth on his family jewels after every diaper removal knowing for certain he would release a stream as soon as he felt the fresh air. To see what surprised me,

.

Often enough, he kicked the cloth off almost immediately and made a yellow mess of his room. Unlike girls, the boy urine can end up all over the place. In one instance, he shot over his head hitting the clothes, aspirator and mirror on the dresser behind his changing table. Another time he aimed forward hitting a stack of clean diapers, wipes and burp cloths. I guess I should have assumed such rocket ship antics from my lil squirt.

Since my son was born, I just put an extra wipe on his penis while I changed his diaper and I have never been peed on! If they can pull off a cloth, they can pull off a teepee. And FYI- I have seen girls pee all over the room also. It is pertty gross and alot harder to contain when it happens since you can't just cover it up quickly. It gets everywhere!

I am expecting a boy too in June and am already anticipating the Golden shower. These are good tips I guess we are just going to have to change that diaper faster.

With my son the trick was changing the diaper as quick as possible. The faster, the better. And, even then — he used to somehow pee out the side without wetting the diaper!

I'm expecting a boy in June and won't be buying a peepee teepee. My sister had 3 boys and whenever I changed their diapers I just held either the wipe over him or the diaper. I never once had a peeing accident. Neither did my sister. It wasn't until they were older that they would be all over the seat that we had a problem..LOL!! They are now 18, 19 and 20 and I'm sure they'd be thrilled I wrote this about them...LOL!

We got Pee-pee Teepees and all sorts of other similar products as gifts and I didn't think any of them worked. They would fall off really quickly and would get poop on them, and then you have to wash them. I found 2 tissues did the trick every time. Easy to grab, very absorbent and soft, and easy to throw out.
