Breakfast For Dinner

Lil Tip: Breakfast For Dinner

I'll take that dinner sunny-side up! Growing up, my friend's mom would surprise the family once a month with breakfast for dinner. She never told them when it would be, but one evening she would pull out the griddle and start fixing up pancakes, bacon, and eggs once the sun went down.

Being a mama myself now, I see why her mom dished up the morning favorites once in a while. The entire concept is fun, easy, and puts a smile on everyone's face at the end of the day. Sometimes we get in a routine that leaves us making the same foods on a weekly basis, and this changes it up every once in a while. So the next time you find yourself in a dinner rut, consider flipping your day on its head and a few hotcakes or omelets onto their dishes. If you want to take the concept one step further, have your child jot down everyone's orders and turn yourself into a short-order cook!

My husband and son do this once a week when I'm gone. They LOVE it since my 2-year-old can help cook.

Pancakes is not a breakfast thing for us, it's always dinner or sometimes lunch.

We have brinner a couple of times a month. I think the short order cook thing is cute, as along as it doesn't get out of hand like Skigurl said.

We have breakfast for dinner about once a week. Usually on Monday because it is easy and light especially after eating out a couple of times over the weekend. For us it is just green eggs (magic bullet with spinach), bacon, and toast.

this isn't genious...i thought everyone's family did this i have an issue with the short-order cook thing - it could take a life of its own! make sure your child knows they can't customize dinner every day! they should be able to eat what's put in front of them.
