For the first time as a mom, Nikki gets to do something that many new parents take for granted: wear her baby on her chest.

When Nikki's breast cancer battle began, she had only had the chance to experience motherhood for three months. Although these two journeys unexpectedly intertwined, it was her new role as mom, along with the support of her wife, Jill, that gave her the strength to fight.

During her battle, Nikki had to endure numerous surgeries, including a mastectomy. "I didn't understand that at this point in my life, when I'm finally a mother, that I would be stricken with a disease that could kill me," she said. "We had a 3-month-old baby who needed us and we just got into warrior mode."

As she was recovering from the fight of her life, Nikki couldn't strap anything on to her chest, let alone pick something up or even push her baby's stroller. Now that she has been in remission for three years, Nikki and Jill have a second baby and this time around, Nikki is able to enjoy those little moments that she previously had to miss out on. Through their work with Susan G. Komen and their Carry For A Cure initiative, Ergobaby not only captured the emotional moment Nikki was able to wear her baby for the first time, but also gave the moms a meaningful surprise.
