Why This Years-Old Video of a Brother Reacting to a Pregnancy Announcement Is Going Viral

Brotherly love doesn't get better than this:

In what might be the most immediate reaction to surprising news in history, Callum MacPhee took — at most — a millisecond to understand why his younger sister Lindsay was giving him a bottle of wine.

In a video — that was actually recorded in August 2014 but was reposted this past week on Facebook — his sister offers a gift from a winery trip and then jokes that she originally got it for herself but that she "can't drink for the next nine months." Before she even tosses the two pregnancy test sticks on the table in front of them, Callum is embracing Lindsay, crying tears of joy.

If the video isn't sweet enough, the story behind it is. As Lindsay wrote on the Love What Matters Facebook page, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, and after years of trying to conceive, she was finally told she would not be able to have children.

Heartbroken, devastated, and feeling complete and utter loss, we moved back home to be near my family. At age 36, a month and a half after moving home, I got sick. Positive it was from Thai food, I tried nursing myself for a week before I had a feeling to buy another pregnancy test. When it came back positive we could not believe it, so we bought two more, had blood work, and an ultrasound. Yup, we were preggers! A miracle baby.

I couldn't wait to tell my family, especially my brother who did not believe we could not have kids. My brother and I are like best friends.

Although the video is years old — in fact, Lindsay's miracle baby, a boy, is now 14 months old! — it's recaptured the hearts of nearly a half a million people. The 45-second clip has more than 591,000 views. Lindsay knows why: "It defines our families' true love."
