This Not-So-Scaredy Cat Saves a Boy From a Vicious Attack

Jeremy Triantafilo was enjoying an afternoon bike ride when all of a sudden a neighbor's dog came into the yard and attacked him. Before Jeremy's mother could help her son, the family's cat, Tara, came to rescue the 4-year-old. In the video above, which was taken from the family's security camera, we see Tara sprint into the yard and pounce on the dog. It's a sight that has shocked everyone, including Jeremy's mother Erica.

"It's honestly just a blur," she tells the Today Show. "I just remember hearing him, and the next thing I know, I see my cat flying out of nowhere, onto this dog, and just remember trying to get my son and get the dog away and back in its yard, away from both of us that it was trying to attack."

The dog has since been put in the custody of animal control officers, and his fate has yet to be determined. While the owners have the option of rehabilitating the dog, Erica says it will most likely be put to sleep. As for Jeremy, he had to receive 10 stitches for two lacerations on his calf. Despite the physical and potential psychological pain, he is ready to get back on his bike.

"He tells us it feels better," Erica says. "He's just ready to get out there and run around and play with the other kids again." Front Page
