The Walking Dead Reenacted by Children Is Both Horrifying and Hilarious

In the wake of the show's divisive sixth season finale, it's hard to deny The Walking Dead's effect on viewers and pop culture en masse. Something that's a little more up for debate? One photographer's Walking Dead-inspired photo shoot . . . using children under the age of 7.

Mother Hubbard Photography recently shared a children's cosplay shoot inspired by the zombie show, which has since sparked both controversy and conversation. The photos depict popular characters from the series like Rick Grimes, Sasha Williams, and the villainous Negan.

In a Facebook caption, the photographer also clarified that the children weren't upset during the shoot, however, they were asked not to smile to better resemble the characters they were portraying. While fans of the show will likely find the whole series to be pretty hilarious, the photos do depict pretty graphic scenes and aspects of the series — like Negan's barbed wire adorned bat — that might not be funny to all parents.

Look ahead for photos from the shoot and prepare to feel a mess of conflicting emotions.
