Chrissy Teigen Speaks Out After Being Slammed For Choosing Her Baby's Gender

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are expecting their first child this year, and ever since the pregnancy announcement, Chrissy has been open about her journey to motherhood. But controversy is now surrounding the couple after she revealed in an exclusive interview with People that they chose to have a daughter through in vitro fertilization.

"Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo," Chrissy told the magazine. "I picked her and was like, 'Let's put in the girl.' I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl."

People were quick to call out the star for having actively chosen a gender, and she responded, using her trademark wit, on Twitter.

anyhow I am not mad at anyone's beliefs but I don't really actively seek out people to make them feel bad about their decisions either.

She also told the magazine that she thinks something magical happens to men when they become a dad to a daughter, saying, "How soft they get, how mushy, and excited they get. It's so cute." Still, she added that she doesn't plan to only have girls: "A boy will come along. We'll get there too, so it's not like we really have to pick." And in true Chrissy fashion, she made light of the situation by cracking a joke.

I also picked the embryo with a taste for bacon, a knack for magic and size 7 feet so she can always find shoes
