Delaying Measles Vaccine Could Increase Risk of Seizures

Kids Who Receive Measles Shot Late Have Higher Risk of Seizures

Children who receive their measles vaccination on the schedule recommended by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention — between 12- to 15-months-old — have a lower risk of experiencing seizures or fever shortly after the vaccination, The Huffington Post reports. According to a study published in JAMA Pediatrics, the measles vaccine can have a small risk of resulting in seizures brought on by fever one to two weeks after the vaccination. In fact, children who received the measles vaccine later than recommended were 6.5 times more likely to experience a febrile seizure 7 to 10 days after the vaccination.

For more information on the risk of seizures after the measles vaccine, read the whole story on The Huffington Post.

It is so funny how so many parents are not allowing their children to get their vaccinations. I would rather my son get them then get the measles, mumps, rubella. I mean the amount of people in the world that could be carrying any of these is high! There are whooping cough outbreaks all over. I think if you don't get your child vaccinated then you shouldn't send them to school because you risk getting every other child that chooses to get them very sick! Reason babies and people are living longer is due to getting proper vaccinations. My friend choose not too and her son spent two months in the hospital from the simple measles because his body couldn't fight it! He was eight years old. past five and under two they can be deadly! The risk of not getting them done out weighs the small side effects that can be treated! It use to be mandatory for children to get their vaccinations to attend school. Why are so many people willing to cause massive out breaks? Also seizures happened in many children under the age of three. I had three seizures when I was two and they said it was due to me growing up! I didn't have another one as they are from the brain developing. A question for all of those who choose not to vaccinate. Do you eat organic too? There are more questionable things in the food we eat then in their shoots.

Now they're trying to scare us into poisoning our children by telling us "It'll be less bad, if you do it at this time than that time." Yet another reason to keep this stuff far away from my kids.

This seems like rather them poor way to persuade parents who aren't comfortable with vaccinatio to start early... To say, yeah these shots can cause violent seizures but they're less like to cause then you have I
