Delilicious: Beanstalk Express Snack Time Survival Kit

Mommy's Lil Helper: Beanstalk Express Snack Time Survival Kit

We know that healthy eating habits start from birth, and sometimes those habits go awry. That said, earlier this year the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics reported that childhood obesity is determined before the age of five, meaning that we only have a few years to ingrain good habits in our tots.

Deirdre Pizzoferrato, a Connecticut-based registered dietitian, hopes to help moms teach their preschoolers how to make smart snacking decisions with her Beanstalk Express Snack Time Survival Kit, which is set to hit stores soon. The kit features a refrigerator clock board with movable clock hands for parents to set snack times. Below the clocks are hooks for 35 snack cards featuring many lil one's favorite foods. The cards are color coded like traffic lights with green cards representing good foods, yellow cards featuring more processed foods kids should eat in moderation, and red cards showing foods we need to think about before we eat. The set helps kids learn time-telling skills in addition to empowering them to make smart snacking choices on their own.
