Did You Have Morning Sickness?

I had a few queasy mornings while pregnant, but it was never bad enough to make me run to the restroom pursing my lips.

Some poor mamas–to–be suffer nausea for the entire nine months!

Did you feel ill while expecting?

I always wondered( and since I don't have any children of my own yet) and wanted to ask all of you, is it common that your pregnancy is alot like your mother's or is it different?( I mean in terms of morning sickness, and swolleness etc.)

i was very lucky. no morning sickness with either pregnancy, one girl and one boy. i think something like 1/3 of women don't suffer morning sickness. i did, however, have severe fatigue both times during the first trimester. it felt like having mono all over again. i know it's nothing compared to feeling nauseous or throwing up all day, but i didn't get off scott free!

I was tossing my cookies 2-3 times a day for the 1st 5 months with my daughter... I actually lost 10 lbs! Funnily enough I still want more kids lol :)

I had it for the first few months, that was actually one of the things that made me take a pregnancy test (I felt nauseous for three days in a row). I stayed that way for only a couple of months, which sucked because it was right around the holidays! I was fine in the second tri, and then it hit back in the middle of the third. To this day, I cannot eat pecans, anything covered with cinnamon sugar, or teriyaki. :(

Nope! I was really only nauseous once and that's when I took a test and found out I was preggo-but I never threw up the whole time I was pregnant! (except when I only ate a fruit bar one morning for breakfast and the acid in the fruit bar was a no-no for my belly! SO it was more like self-inflicted sickness)

I did not have morning sickness at all. However, I threwup a couple of times when I went in to labor.

only here and there but then VERY suddenly. once i was walking across the street in our posh downtown and i just puked; BOOM! mid way across the street. i was so embarassed that i started crying and then walking back to my car i saw my reflection in a store window. i, for some unknown reason, had thought that in my winter coat no one but me knew i was pregnant. i thought i was tiny! but in my winter coat i looked even bigger than i was. so i think any one who saw me hurl knew the deal, rather than thinking i was a drunk.

All day sickness with my last pregnancy, lasted for 4.5 months. I never threw up, just felt like I needed to constantly. I tried grazing as I kept thinking that there would be something that would make me feel better but never.

I had it during the first trimester with both pregnancies. Actually more like weeks... 8-14. It's okay though, my labors were 6 hours and then 1 1/2 hours from no pain to baby. I'll take that any day!! All this talk is giving me pregnancy fever! Stop it Stop it!

I had morning noon and night sickness in my second month!! It was so awful..i must have been getting sick about 15-20 times a day till they had to finally set me up at home with an IV to rehydrate me and then i had to get a medicine pump put on my leg to help keep the nausea at bay. I had to learn how to change the site every 3 days all by myself...sticking a needle into my thigh...etc. It was awful...but well worth the trouble to keep the sickness down. I was told it was because i was having twins and because they were both boys...lol. I dont know about that...but i sure had it super bad!!!

Hyperemesis from week 8 - vomiting up to 40 times a day, or it just seemed that I was hugging the loo all day long, retching non stop. And although I had a few weeks where I was only sick once or twice a day, it all came back with a vengeance at about week 28, and stuck around to the delivery room, when I dry-retched because I was nil by mouth for 24 hours. I'm trying to get pregnant again now, and really praying it doesn't happen again. But I think it will. Nothing worked! People would tell me to wear bands, eat small amounts often, try a bit of ginger - they were always people who said 'I was never actually SICK, but I felt terrible'.

With my son, I was pretty sick for the first few months. With my daughter, I learned how to manage it better. It turns out that when I'm pregnant, I suddenly lose the ability to feel hungry. I just start to feel nauseous. If I eat something little as soon as I start to feel that way, I'm fine. So, I grazed a lot and never really got sick with her.

With my son, I had nothing. However, with my daughter I was sick the entire time. If anything other than cereal or peanut butter passed my lips it was going to come back in about 5 minutes. It was all worth it though.

Three years ago when I was pregnant, I was sick (throwing up, not eating, just felt nasty) for the first 4 months and then I had a miscarriage. :( Then, I got pregnant again in 2007 and I did not get sick at ALL... And went on to have a healthy Halloween baby! :)

No really. No throwing up, just nausea all day long coupled with food aversion. It was rough but gone by week 13.

Ditto that bluecat. I often forget how bad I felt. Our mind and body have selective amnesia when it comes to that sort of thing. Otherwise, the world would have more trouble staying populated!

Sick the whole 9 months but would do it all again in a heartbeat.

I was sick for what felt like forever, but it was really only a couple of months. It made me really feel for those ladies that are sick the whole pregnancy.

I was sick all day for about 3 days, but after I started constantly grazing on food all day it went away. Now just once in a while after I eat I feel a little sick, but it goes away fairly quickly.
