We already do share some of the same interests which is great and I love it, but I'd also like for her to have some of her own as well.Whatever makes her happy in life is fine with me.

I hope that they share the same interests. I wouldn't be upset if they didn't but it would be nice.

i was a figure skater growing up and my 3rd daughter loved it too. i was so excited! she was loving it and getting the hang of it really well. but the one rink is in a terrible part of town and my purse got stolen twice, by car got broken into, too many things like that. another rink closed and the third is too far away so that when it's time to come home it takes 90 minutes to go about 15 miles. so she's not going to be a figure skater.actually, i was dissipointed because i loved it so much, but she found something else she likes just as much. seeing her enjoy herself and take pride in her accomplishments is really what i was enjoying so it doesn't matter what activity it involves. and yeah, it's weird when they have no interest in your activity, lol.

This just came up recently with some friends. One of our male friends never even contemplated his child (he assumes he will have a boy btw) would not want to play football like him. He was just floored when his wife pointed out that he could be in the band at the half time show. Having our own business I hope one of our boys wants to go into the family biz but who knows. Someday our boys might even want PC's... I might have to disown them ;-)

I hope they share some, but I hope they have their own interests as well.

it would be great if they do...however, I dont want to limit them. i know my bf really wants his boys to play football which is fine, but i just want them to be happy!

it don't make a difference. if we do like the same thing...when they get older...they sure as heck don't wanna be hanging with dear ole' mom and dad doing the things they like...god forbid, they might actually be seen by their peers...lol....at least i used to think that way many, many moons ago..
