It's pretty for a baby but for an adult...? mmmh, not so much.

I like Rose Elizabeth. Don't really like Seraphina.

I think Seraphina is a beautiful name... it means 'fiery one' and comes from the word Seraphim, which was the highest order of angels in the bible (they are the angels who sing praise around God's throne). I think this spelling is either Hebrew or Latin, but when it is spelled Serafina it is Italian.

I like it. It's certainly better than using a name that's too common.

...although it's much better than apple. i guess i'd rather go through life with the name of a flower than a grocery item

Well honestly, whenever celebrities names their kids, people will always criticize it. Haha, I would dare say that the Afflecks have given their child a respectable name I mean Toni Braxton named her kids Jean and Denim..

to erniew, what is the big deal? why do you care what they name the baby? yoursuggestions are boring and plain. I have 3 kids with unusual names and when people comment that they don't like them, I just say, "why do you think I care?" Everyone has the right to name their children what they like and everyone else should just keep their opinions to themselves. That is what makes the world go around. If everyone named their children the same boring names, how blah this world would be.

Oops I meant "Seraphina" in my first post.

And before anyone points this out again, I know that Seraphina could be hypenated to "Sera" and that sounds like it may go with Violet better but, to me, it still sounds odd like if one sibling was named Mary and one was named Esmeralda (just as an example). I think Seraphina would be more fitting for the daughter of an Italian or Spanish couple (not that you have to give your child a name from your ethnic background). Ok I have put way too much thought in this...I'm eager to see what this new baby looks like and if she resembles her big sister.wild chiild - Violet's full name is "Violet Anne Affleck."

Well my definition of a "unique" baby name (which is what I meant by "out there") varies from other users I guess. I have never met a Seraphina, the only variation of that word that I've ever heard is Seraphim (angels) in the Bible. Anyway, my point was that Seraphima is an uncommon and unusual name, not that it wasn't traditional :? Didn't mean to ruffle a few feathers just because I didn't like a "traditional" name. Just seems odd for these two who are named Benjamin & Jennifer, who have an older daughter with a fairly normal name (Violet). But to each his own, it's their baby so of course they can name it whatever they want :)

I've never thought of that name before. It is very beautiful. What is Violet's full name?

It's not my favorite name but I do agree with others that it's not nearly as bad as what many other celebs have chosen. That said, I also agree with other posts that it just doesn't seem to fit with Violet. Her name is pretty but simple. Seraphina is much grander. It's not that I think sibling names have to match but they should "go" together. Her two middle names are still so pretty and match up with Violet so much better - Rose Elizabeth or Elizabeth Rose would have been a lovely fit.

Aw sorry, but I'm German and I have NEVER heard of the name Seraphina before. Don't like the sound of it, Elizabeth would have been so much better, it fits to Violet.

It sounds like a disease... "I'm sorry but you have Seraphina Affleck. All the test point to Seraphina. You don't have much time to live."

I love the name Seraphina but it seems a little too precious when it's not someone with Italian heritage.
