Do You Nap While Your Kids Are Awake?

Sleep deprivation comes with motherhood, but sometimes even the most energetic mama can't keep her eyes open. Unfortunately, her tots may not be tired so mom may resort to turning on a movie so her kiddos are occupied while she grabs a quick nap on the couch. Do you do this when you are tuckered or do you think it's unsafe?

Normally thin people like myself, tend to carry like that when laying down.

I definitely have done so once in a while. There are some days when I just have to!

It is not a baseball in your belly but live tissue that moves around, especially when you lay or your side like that, nothing freaky. But I agree it looks a little weird.

I usually don't nap but I'm 33 weeks pregnant and have a 18 month old. So when she naps I nap. I would never nap with her up and alone. My house would be destroyed and god knows if she'd still be in one piece.

That belly is freaking me out! Something is totally off with that image... Anyway, I don't nap while she's awake. She's 22 months old and methinks our house would be in shambles if I were to nod off for even a short amount of time. I do try to nap when she does once in a while, but that is rare. Usually, I just relax for a little bit or focus on getting stuff done.

I think it would depend on the age of the kid. When my baby was young and I was sleep deprived I would take a quick nap when the baby napped with my 10 year old still up. I wouldn't however take a nap with the 15 month old running around as he is into everything.

I have dosed off while my daughter is awake. I just can't resort to caffeine to stay awake since I'm pregnant, but I don't deliberately try to take a nap.

I don't nap at all, ever. Never could unless I'm VERY sick. My body just doesn't allow me to shut down during daylight hours, even if I'm utterly exhausted. It's weird.
