This bittersweet story has us both smiling and in tears. The family of Bailey Massey, a British toddler who recently passed away from a liver disease, is still reeling from their tragic loss. But the way they've chosen to remember their little guy is opening hearts. Many of the boy's family and friends, including his grandfather and great uncles, marched in his funeral cortege dressed as his favorite cartoon characters.

Bailey, who struggled with biliary artresia almost from birth, and who passed away after three failed liver transplants, loved cartoons. "He used to rock with laughter when he watched them, they made him so happy," his mom, Lindsay, told The Daily Mail.

She went on to explain, "We wanted to do something special and I thought it would be lovely if Bailey was surrounded by his favorite characters on his way to church. There were so many mourners and people in the street stopped, looked and paid their respects when we walked by."

The family hopes to inspire others to become organ donors.
