Fresh Express Lettuce Recall

Fresh Express Lettuce Recall

Check your fridge moms! As the Sacramento Bee reports, Fresh Express has issued a voluntary recall of select heart of romaine salad packages due to a possible health risk from Salmonella. The affected packages have been primarily distributed in the West-Northwest and Midwest regions of the U.S., and are marked with a use-by date of October 11, 2012 and a Product Code of S270A24.

No illnesses have been reported to Fresh Express at this time - the recall notification is being issued after a random sample yielded a positive result for Salmonella as part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's random sample testing program.
