These Comics About New-Mom Struggles Will Get You Through the Day

When most parents put their babies to bed at the end of the night, they usually veg out in front of the TV or pass out themselves. As for Bonnie Kimmerly? She pulls out her sketchbook and draws cartoons that highlight the day-to-day ridiculousness that is new motherhood.

"I first started drawing parenting cartoons while I was on maternity leave as a creative outlet," she told POPSUGAR. "Believe it or not, I manage to find the energy. It's definitely not easy."

Her cartoons — which cover the struggles associated with breastfeeding and baby-wearing, bizarre toddler quirks, and head-scratching interactions with complete strangers — are all based on her personal experiences, but it wasn't long before she realized how universal they really were.

"I hope new moms are able to relate to these situations and find some humor and relief in knowing they are not alone," she said. "Being a new parent can be stressful . . . remember to appreciate the little things!"
