Ga Ga or Gag: Pint-sized Personalization

Personalization is a growing trend, there's an option to engrave, embroider, or monogram just about everything— baby clothes, furniture, artwork, books and songs that include your child's name.

Do you love the personalized touch or are you tired of seeing names plastered all over everything?

since it's a child sized chair isn't it obvious who's it is? on a tooth brush or towel it's cute, on a chair? strange. why would you need to have a name on the chair unless it was assigned seating? i don't see the appeal.

It's okay on some things but some people go overboard. They're teaching their children that the world revolves around them when it doesn't. Also, when you personalize everything, then your child outgrows them or doesn't use them anymore, it's hard to pass them on to other kids. Keeping it simple sometimes is the best way.

anything TOO much is over kill. But seeing thier name all over the house by writing it & posting it all over in cute pictures is better than personalizing it all over actual products. Some things is ok too much is too much. NEVER put your childs name on anything that will be seen in public. unless you have bodygaurds 24 hrs. a day. Please, you would be surprised how many wierdo's are out there.

I think it's cute when not overdone. I have to say, I have not gotten anything personalized for my son yet, but I was thinking about this very chair recently.

I love surrounding my son with his name. I think it's important that he see it everywhere so that he can learn it.

If I do a persoalization on clothing, I normally do initials, of the last initial. I did names on baby bags and bibs though and on my daughter's backpack

I don't have a problem with personalization on items that aren't seen publicly. I remember when I was young and "name" shirts were all the rage...I was in the mall and a really creepy man started talking to me and calling me my name. I never wore my name on anything again and I won't put my daughter's name on things that go "outside".
