Why This Photo of a Little Girl Standing on a Toilet Will Keep You Up at Night

Has Your Wardrobe Changed Since You Had Children?

Once a woman becomes a mother she may weed items out of her closet. Maybe her midriff days were numbered, or she can't wrap her mind around a postpartum miniskirt. Perhaps the thought of slipping into hot pants to chase a wild tot isn't as practical as a pair of yoga pants or her figure has changed and spandex halter is no longer flattering. Whatever the case, did you find that your wardrobe changed once you became a mom? Did you retire any pieces that no longer fit your lifestyle?

Ditto Janeegibbs! There are some things I wore "way back then" that you'd never catch me in now-----BUT-----I have a much nicer lingerie collection now and a whole portion of my closet has clothes that my kids NEVER see me in. I admit to having a couple years wearing sweats and my "mommy uniform" of overalls....but once they got a little older I remembered that woman that once was a hot-tie! I still existed and I only had to rediscover that part of me...and my husband is VERY appreciative.

Oh what to choose from? The leather corset mini dress, the shirts that looked like suspenders, or the hot pants? I was quite the wild child. I do still rock the leather pants occasionally though. I just wear a tunic top with them instead of something form fitting.

My most memorable retired item was a Bebe kiss dress. Yep, a black mini covered with red lipstick kisses which I have a hard time believing I actually wore in the first place, but am chalking it up to having been 24 and fun. My favorite old stuff is in a "wishful thinking" pile that I hope to reunite with once I lose 20 lbs.

The leather pants won't be making an appearance anytime soon. :p And that's kind of too bad. As for the rest of my wardrobe, since I've had a kid, I've started to discover how much fun it is to play outside. My clothes are more comfortable, I finally invested in a good pair of hiking boots, and even my work clothes are comfortable enough so I can ride my bike to work.

I don't have children yet, but I hope having them will make me buy more comfortable clothes! I have so many things in which I can't move, like pants that are super low (and make it impossible to sit down or bend over), or shirts that have to be taped to me in order to stay where they should.
