If you haven't already noticed the hashtags #20Acts and #26Acts popping up on your Facebook, Twitter, or other social media accounts, here's how they started, what they mean, and why we're spreading the word.
On Sunday, NBC News Correspondent Ann Curry tweeted, "Imagine if everyone went out and committed to 20 acts of kindness for every one child lost in Newtown?"
Her idea — and the hashtags — have taken off like wildfire, with people around the nation honoring the 26 victims (20 children and 6 teachers) through acts of kindness, and also by sharing the social media campaign with friends and followers.
We here at Circle of Moms are inspired by Curry's suggestion and glad to have more ways to help. As Curry says, "If people could do something good, they would start to feel better about this huge tragedy that had happened to our nation."
