OK, mommies, so I am not quite certain about you guys, but when my kiddies and I are going on an outing from the time we leave the house to about five minutes before our destination, the question "Mommy, can I have a snack?" becomes music to my ears. I always try to ensure that I pack snacks that are fresh, healthy, and oh so yummy. Here are a few of our favorite on-the-go snacks.
Bananas, grapes, or apples work best because they are less messy.
Cranberries, raisins, or prunes are delicious and nutritious options.
I usually make these myself by adding some of my kids' favorite fruit and nuts. Some of which include almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, raisins, and cranberries.
These are a healthy potato chip option. They are tasty and made with whole grain goodness!
Now I have to be honest — I pack these for myself! They contain sea salt and are gluten free as well.
My kids still love it. They have this new one called Go Go Squeeze, which is excellent for your on-the-go needs because of the packaging. It's just turn, squeeze, and enjoy!
Natural Fruit Gummy Packs
This is a great sweet tooth pick. I try to find the ones that are made with 100 percent fruit, because they provide a healthier alternative.
Another whole grain delight. I look for the ones that have flavors in them. Like cinnamon, dark chocolate, or honey.
Throw a couple of them in a ziplock, and you are good to go!
Celery sticks or carrots are great picks. Easy to eat and deliciously satisfying.
All of these snacks mentioned can be found at Whole Foods, Publix, Costco, or Fresh Markets. In general, I would say that packing healthy and tasty treats for your kids creates an overall happier experience. So be prepared, and try some of these selections on your next kiddie adventure!
