I would also suggest brining snacks! The hospital provides breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you just had a baby so you will be hungry! And if you are breastfeeding, you will want food even more. And since you will be in the hospital for a few extra days, bring a little make-up to make yourself feel pretty when you are in pain and still have that lovely belly that makes you look 5 months pregnant. I didn't bring a laptop since there was a TV in the room and I had alot of visitors (and my amazing mom stayed with me the whole time so she was more entertainment). I had tons of magazines and maybe read one of them. I did alot of sleeping if I wasn't with my new beautiful baby.

I wouldn't bring a laptap, loading an ipod with music and movies is a better idea, especially if you end up on a recovery ward with a few women sharing a room. Also, don't bring your hospital bag in until you are in recovery, send a friend or your husband to get it. When prepping for surgery, you are most likely not the room you will be in for your visit, so items can easily go missing or be stolen.
