6 is too young for so much makeup. maybe lipgloss or nail polish but more than that is just too much.

This is not about being judgmental or hypocritical. This is about the reality of living in a world where children are considered by some to be "prey." It just seems to me that EVERYTHING should not be acceptable. Some things have to remain "right" just as some things must remain "wrong" in order for society not to collapse into anarchy. She looks too old. It's too much make-up for a 6 year old girl. No, she does not have to be in bows and pigtails, but how she is perceived should ALWAYS be age appropriate.

as long as it's in good fun. i'd rather cindy and rande teach her about drugs/alcohol than not let her play in makeup. the cell doesn't bother me. my cousin is 11 and he has a cell and a laptop. if they were as popular when he was 6, he probably would have had them then.

My 6yo finally figured out how to apply her neutral, shimmery shadow ON her eyelids instead of under her eyes, and her clear gloss on her lips instead of around them. :) I'm proud of my baby girl... if she's going to wear makeup, she's going to know how to apply it! She has been watching me apply makeup since birth, and she used to pester me daily to let her wear some. I bought her some basics--eyeshadow, blush, gloss--to play with on her own for her 6th birthday. No makeup 'til age 16? That's just asking for trouble, IMO. Forbid it strictly, and it will become very, very alluring.

It's more than just the makeup that makes her look too old. 6 year olds shouldn't wear makeup (unless they're goofing around) or clothes that look like a tween (or older) would wear. Seriously, I thought she was older than her brother from this picture.

way too young to be wearing that much make-up. it doesn't seem like she's playing dress-up, but rather it's part of her routine.

Six is waaay young for real makeup. I had my Petite Miss sets, of course, but that's play makeup and it's obviously not the real stuff. I got my first real nail polish when I was 8; I didn't start wearing other makeup until I was like 11 or 12, which was still earlier than most of my friends. In this case - she looks about 10. At least. And while she looks pretty, it's not very appropriate for someone her age to be wearing in any circumstance. She needs to wait a few years.

I don't think there is anything wrong with kids playing with make-up. There has been no proof or research done that shows it damages a child to wear make-up out in public. Plus, like some others said, there could be another reason for her wearing it. Even if there is no other reason, I don't see anything wrong with letting your daughter have a little fun with it.

NO WAY! I would never allow that to happen to any of my nieces or little cousins let alone my daughter

This is quite inappropriate - the kid does not at all look 6.I mean we have posts of Lindsay Lohan's sister not looking her age at all cos she just piles on the make-up ... Cindy should be careful that her daughter isn't going down the same route of growing up too fast.I don't think it's about people living in glass houses blah blah - I think that some parents aren't really seeing the patterns of kids who wanna grow up too fast , and then end up being mini adults instead of kids . i think this is in the same league as the thongs for nine year olds etc - i mean really where do u draw the line??

She really doesn't look like a six year old. I don't mind letting little girls play around with make-up for fun, but that make-up on Kaia looks expertly applied, and not what a six year old looks like when they play dress up. My daughter would wear my red lipstick, purple eyeshadow, smear blush on her cheeks like a circus clown, etc. Kaia looks like she could give ME tips on how to put on make-up. Sorry, I don't think it's appropriate.

I can't believe she is 6.I have a 5 and 6 year and they look like little girls. They play with lip gloss and polish their nails but that's it.She looks like a miniature grown up and not a child.
