Kate Gosselin's Recipe: Fall Harvest Sandwich

In the kitchen and uninspired? Wonder woman Kate Gosselin (who recently shared her tricks for feeding a family of ten with us) has come to the culinary rescue with her healthy sandwich recipes that are kid friendly and an easy way to incorporate whole grains into your child's diet.

Fall Harvest Sandwich

  • 2 slices honey ham
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese
  • 1 T honey mustard
  • ½ Granny Smith apple, sliced thin (optional)
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread

Place on one piece of bread in the following order: mustard, cheese, ham, apple slices. Top with the remaining piece of bread. Cut on the diagonal and serve.

Why is Kate considered a Wonder Woman? People have been making that sandwich for many years, and I'd bet anything Kate just grabs those sandwiches off the Kraft Service table and throws them on a paper plate. To me a wonder woman is someone to look up to or admire, Kate Gosselin is not even close to either...imo.

you guys are being way too harsh. she's not saying she invented these recipes! she's just providing examples of food she feeds her kids and is outlining the instructions for how to make them.

I love that there's an order you have to follow. Heaven forbid I put the ham down before the cheese! It completely sums up Kate's anal retentiveness.

Yeah, I don't really see this as a "culinary rescue" of any sort...it's just a ham and cheese sandwich with optional apple slices.

My favorite is "top with the remaining slice of bread." Really? On a SANDWICH?? Surely you jest.

I think people make too much of a big deal about her and her family. Where my boyfriend comes from, most of the families (including his) had at LEAST 8 children, but usually more than 10 and NO ONE was giving them stuff or calling the mothers 'super mothers' (although I'm sure they actually were)

Nor did Kate Gosselin come up with the idea herself. That sandwich and very close adaptions of that sandwich have been on the Food Network for awhile now. Please don't give her credit for something that Tyler Florence (and possibly others) had well before her.

Surely you jest - a ham and cheese sandwich with optional sliced apples? On two pieces of bread? You would think a Wonder Woman would be able to come up with something better than that!
